shark's hole...

so this weekend i went on a little boonie stomp with the girls...the big girls...we left the little girls and the little boys home with the big boys!the boonie stomp was less of a hike and more of a walk along the beach that included just a few instances of crawling over sharp rocks or waist-deep water walking...we parked at tanguisson beach and headed north to shark's hole...tried one opening to see if it was the path to the lost pond, but since none of us really planned on swimming in the murky pond anyway, we gave up and turned around after about two minutes!

we passed neat little rock islands, sort of like mini-mini-mini palau...
do you think this line is where guam will break off and capsize?
it rained while we were in the water so the visibility might not have been ideal, but it was still great...(well, besides my mask fogging up incessantly)...we even saw a few guys spearfishing and got to see them diving underwater...they can hold their breath forever!on our hike we saw a gazillion butterflies...really, i counted...you can see them here!

  1. I love that stretch of beach. The last time we were at Lost Pond it was in bad condition. Lots of random junk in it (like the screen from a window) and really dirty. I'm hoping the junk got in there from typhoons and not from illegal dumping. But shortly after high school grad I went there with friends and we took turns swinging off a rope into the pond. It was a lot cleaner then.

I love the video. Butterflies always seemed spiritual to me. There are lots of little yellow butterflies on the Pagat caves trail. :)

  2. it really was beautiful!...the sand there was great...there was a lot of trash along the tanguisson path...we sort of wished we had thought to bring trash bags and gloves to pick some up on our way out...

i haven't seen anything but black butterflies on guam yet! - i'll have to find this path now!
